Zoom, the platform for making video calls, introduced a new feature in order to improve the quality of use of users. Now call participants will be able to take annotations on-screen in real-time. With this new setting, it is also possible to add automatic lines that underline important parts of a text when it is being shared on the screen.
The settings are incorporated as part of a new update to the Zoom Meeting and Zoom Video Webinars applications and offer help to users who need to make their virtual meetings more efficient and dynamic.
How does this feature work?
So that users can control annotations, the platform introduced automatic forms in its mobile application so that participants can use a stylus, with which they can underline texts and write keywords, among others.
It should be noted that the annotations will disappear after a while. However, in order to start a new series of annotations, you have to go to “see options” and then enter “write down”.
The new feature, called Whiteboard Auto-shapes, allows users to create perfect, straight lines within the application. The whiteboard function automatically corrects the shape of the object, so those interested in making annotations will not suffer from a lack of style.
It is worth mentioning that to add the new function, it is necessary to download the latest version of Zoom, which can be found in the Play Store, for Android devices, and in the App Store, for users of the iOS system.

The Zoom platform also expanded the catalog of emojis with which users are allowed to express themselves live with the participants or attendees of the video conference. The platform, which until now worked with six emojis, now has a predefined package. It should be noted that administrators of large accounts will be able to enable the full package of these new emoticons.
Among other novelties, it is highlighted that Facebook has added support for the Zoom application in Portal TV, thanks to which users can connect with friends, family, or work colleagues to virtual meetings through the television, a step that facilitates connection and comfort of many users who telecommute daily.
On the other hand, the company announced that in the case of Zoom Phone, it has launched a tool that activates the application’s notifications in order to keep users informed with relevant data on critical events that affect well-being. This tool is being developed through the use of InformaCast from Singlewire Software.
These new features are given in order to make the platform a completely professional, easy-to-use, and intuitive tool. It should be noted that at the end of 2019 Zoom had ten million daily users and today this figure exceeds 500 million.
