Apple smartwatches once again prove their worth and help save lives.
The story took place during a flight from Utah, USA to Hawaii, USA. A woman named Lavinia Mounga went into preterm labor, 11 weeks ahead of schedule. Since the flight passes over the ocean, there was no question of any emergency landing. Fortunately, there was one doctor and three nurses on board, who delivered the baby. After that, doctors kept the child in a stable condition until the plane landed in Hawaii.
Naturally, the Apple Watch did not deliver the baby itself, but the heart rate sensor helped the doctor track the baby’s heart rate. Considering that the baby was born prematurely, and there was no special equipment on board the plane, using the Apple Watch as at least some kind of replacement shows a good reputation for the device. And of course the advertising effect. Apparently, Apple is deliberately collecting cases around the world where smartwatches have saved or helped save lives.
