It is not uncommon for us to report that streaming services are increasing the prices for their subscriptions. This is also currently the case with Spotify. The service informs users of the change via email.
So far, Spotify has had four different paid subscriptions. Premium Student for pupils and students for 4.99 euros per month, Premium for 9.99 euros per month, Premium Duo for 12.99 euros per month, and Premium Family for 14.99 euros per month. Now several users in Europe, Great Britain, Ireland, and the United States receive an email from Spotify, in which an increase in the price of the subscriptions is announced.
Spotify: Partly drastic increases
Almost all plans of the music streaming service are affected. The student will be increased to 5.99 euros per month and the price for the family will be increased from 14.99 euros to 17.99 euros – i.e. by around 20 percent – per month. It seems that Premium and Premium Duo will remain as expensive as before. If there is anything else here, we will of course also report on it.
It is interesting that Spotify suffered losses of 125 million euros in the last quarter. In addition, the profit per user fell by eight percent.
The well-known prices will still apply for the next month. From June the first customers of the above-mentioned subscriptions will see the increase.
