The Galaxy Fold was a terminal with lights and shadows, but it is undeniable that its launch was a before and after in the smartphone sector. We have seen how different manufacturers have adapted the folding concept to their terminals, a clear example is Motorola’s Razr 2020.
The basis has always been to get a compact folded and wide terminal once unfolded, but what if we wanted a tablet? Well, the answer could be Samsung with the Galaxy Z Fold Tab. The rumors continue to sound since last year and, it seems, that it is getting closer to being a reality.
This device would start from the basis that it is foldable, but not just any foldable, but that it is capable of folding twice and, therefore, it would allow carrying a tablet with a considerable screen in your pocket. In addition, this tablet would be compatible with the Samsung S Pen and, therefore, it would have an extra point in terms of productivity.
The truth is that TCL would be ahead of Samsung because just a year ago they taught a concept similar to the one proposed by the Korean company. But it is clear that if there is a company capable of taking a risk and launching a folding tablet that is Samsung.
Many doubts arise about this product, it may still be too early to see folding tablets, and even that the double hinge technology is not polished enough to withstand daily use.
It is clear that for the moment folding terminals are nothing more than a whim of the few and a vision of the future on the part of certain companies. Of course, rumors suggest that we will have to wait until the first quarter of 2022 to meet the Galaxy Z Fold Tab.
At the moment the only thing we can do is wait and see the proposals of the rest of the manufacturers, such as OPPO, which has been one of the last to get on the folding screen bandwagon and has done so with the OPPO X 2021.
