In recent months, WhatsApp has given much to talk about due to the hacking and theft that has occurred en masse in some accounts.
Cybercriminals take advantage of users’ naivety to extract private information and, in many cases, restrict access to their own accounts.
In social networks, some Internet users have notified about the ‘novelty’ that the application released a pink version. However, I am very careful as this is not true.
The company has not changed the traditional green color that it has since its launch and that distinguishes it from other messaging software such as Telegram.
In countries like Mexico and India, the information has been shared through the famous contact groups, where the direct link to install the ‘new version’ circulates.
Technology experts have warned that this is a hoax, as happened with WhatsApp Gold and other types of scams of this type.
Rajshekhar Rajaharia, an Indian internet security researcher, clarified from his Twitter account that it is actually malware that is downloaded through an APK – a package for the android operating system, which is turned into a vulnerability for accounts and even the same smartphone.
How to Uninstall Pink WhatsApp
If you have already fallen for this deception by mistake, it is important that you know how to remove the application, bearing in mind that it is not that simple since it is automatically hidden after installation.
To uninstall it:
Go to ‘settings’ then ‘storage or apps’ (depends on the model) and finally you can see the list of apps that are installed on your phone. There you can uninstall hidden apps.
