Oppo to Introduce a Foldable Smartphone in July-August This Year

Oppo, owned by BBK Electronics, is already preparing its foldable smartphone for launch, according to reports from China.

According to reports, Oppo has opted for the standard clamshell layout as its base concept, rather than the tablet design found in the Galaxy Z Fold and Mix Fold series. The new clamshell smartphone will join the Motorola Razr and Galaxy Z Flip series. According to the report, the Oppo foldable smartphone will have a 7-inch LTPO screen.

The new Oppo is likely to be taller and wider than the Galaxy Z Flip and Moto Razr smartphones. Since the design assumes a compact body, there is very little space for the battery, therefore, the Oppo foldable smartphone will be able to accommodate a battery with a capacity of 3500 to 4000 mAh. In addition to the main 7 “display, a 2” screen will be placed on the outer panel. It will display quick notifications, incoming calls, and other messages. In terms of release date, Oppo’s new clamshell smartphone will debut around the same time as Samsung’s Z Flip3, July-August 2021.
