On Thursday, May 7, Microsoft revealed some of the third party games it had in development for its new Xbox Series X console. Microsoft revealed gameplays and presentations of several new games at an online event called “Inside Xbox.” The presentation was made through a video of just over 27 minutes called “First Look Xbox Series X Gameplay”.
The video featured presentations of Ubisoft’s highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed Valhalla along with several new IPs. Many of these video games surprised by their novelty and good quality, although they did not turn out to be the “bombshell ads” that fans expected.
The video received tons of negative opinions in the first hours although it is very likely that a part of the excessive criticism comes from competition fans like Sony. The video on youtube has a very high ratio of dislikes to likes with 21,795 positive votes compared to 28,308 negative votes at the time of publication of this article.
Many of the users complained that hardly any actual gameplay of the games had been shown in the video event while others said announcements of major franchises and franchises were expected.
After seeing fan comments on Twitter, Xbox Games Marketing CEO Aaron Greenberg apologized for the day after the presentation, explaining that Xbox may have created some erroneous expectations.
Many Xbox fans, eagerly awaiting the news of Xbox’s X Series titles, we’re disappointed by the little actual gameplay that was shown, especially the video game Assassins Creed Valhalla from Ubisoft. The game featured brief images of Viking raids and battles that didn’t look much like the game’s images.
