Many times our choices are not successful enough that our password is easily violated. Most of the time we choose something easy to remember quickly. Birthdays, anniversaries, a date are the most common options for passwords. In fact, they are the most difficult to be violated by a stranger.
But new research that has come to light has revealed that millions of people use easy-to-access passwords even for important accounts, such as the pin of the withdrawal card or bank accounts. The analysis was done by the British government agency, the National Cyber Security Center.
The code “123456” seems to be used by more than 23 million people in the world. It is followed by “123456789”, while among the five most common are also “qwerty”, “password” and “1111111”, as reported in the BBC article. The most common names are “Ashley” and “Michael” while “Liverpool” is the most popular football team. Other frequently displayed passwords are: “50cent”, “naruto” and “trigger”.
“No one should protect sensitive information with codes that one can guess. For example, their name, the football team in their area, or their favorite band, “said the technical director of the National Cyber Security Center.
