If everything goes as the insiders predict, then the Google Pixel 5a 5G will premiere on June 11th. It is already clear that in terms of design, the smartphone will repeat last year’s Pixel 4a 5G. Now it became known that significant changes in technical characteristics should not be expected either.
Resource 9to5Google reported that the device will receive the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset, which is used in the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5. This information was found in the Android 12 Developer Preview 3 code. It mentions that the smartphone codenamed Barbet (and we already know that underneath is the Pixel 5a 5G), will be based on the sm7250 processor. This marking corresponds to the Snapdragon 765G. Overall, this is not a bad thing at all, as this chipset offers a good combination of energy efficiency and performance, thanks to which it has gained high popularity.
At the same time, it is assumed that the older Pixel 6, which will be presented towards the end of the year, will be based on Google’s own chipset, created in conjunction with Samsung.
As for the Pixel 5a 5G, it is expected that this smartphone will receive a 6.2-inch OLED matrix with Full HD + resolution and a dual main camera. It is known that the Pixel 5a 5G will definitely be released in the US, Japan, and India markets. Availability in other regions is still in question.
