It’s all to blame for the protracted litigation between Apple and Epic Games, which led the Cupertino tech giant to exclude the game from the App Store. However, this may change in the near future.
But if the game returns to iOS, it won’t be available through the standard downloads in the App Store. An NVIDIA executive confirmed that Fortnite will be available in October 2021, but so far through the GeForce NOW cloud gaming platform.
Not currently Apple and Epic are still in litigation, but that should be over in the next few weeks. Fortnite is Epic Games’ most profitable game and losing an audience of all iPhone and iPad users threaten to lose a large chunk of the company’s bottom line.
