The overclocker, hiding under the pseudonym Topic, has set a new record for overclocking DDR4 RAM: information about the achievement has already been made public on the HWBOT website.
Recall that the previous record for overclocking DDR4 was set at the end of March: then overclockers obeyed the frequency of 7156 MHz. The experiment used an MSI MEG Z590I UNIFY motherboard and an 8GB HyperX Predator DDR4-2400 module.
The new record achieved using MSI MEG Z590 UNIFY-X board and 8GB HyperX Predator module. An eight-core Intel Core i9-11900KF (Rocket Lake) processor with multithreading support was installed in the system. This chip has a base clock speed of 3.5 GHz and a maximum clock speed of 5.3 GHz.
During the experiment, the central processor used only two cores (without using multithreading). The overclocker lowered the clock frequency to 1.5 GHz. Liquid nitrogen has traditionally been used for cooling.
As a result, we managed to reach the 7200 MHz mark, the memory timings were 58-63-63-63-2.
