The nuclear event has finally reached Verdansk, and Call of Duty: Warzone Event players are currently fighting for their lives on the zombie-riddled island. The long-awaited event arrived on Wednesday afternoon condensing all of Warzone into a single playlist. The new game mode is titled “Destruction of Verdansk Part 1” and drops teams of four on the map with guns in hand. The goal is to survive long enough to expel and leave the island. If you die, you become a zombie and hunt down other players. The most interesting part of this whole game, however, is Part 1 at the end of the playlist.
At the end of the game, when the zombies take over, the island is bombed. That part is expected. But it looks like there will be the second chapter in this saga. If Part 1 ends with an explosion, what is Part 2? More importantly: when it will arrive.
The Call of Duty blog posted about the event just an hour before it started, and said the exfiltration could last up to two hours. If so, it might offer some insight into when Part 2 is coming. After the exfiltration period, we might see a second Destruction of Verdansk playlist going live, this one offering another version of the game.
Streamer Nickmercs noted that the second part of the event would arrive on Wednesday afternoon, just around the two hours of its existence.
In addition, Part 2 could also arrive on Thursday, 24 hours after the debut of Part 1. The island is not only destroyed. Something will happen to bring players back to a 1980s version of Verdansk, in Warzone draw in Cold War Black Ops. There will likely be a second in-game event that will help the story make this transition. But it feels more like a rebirth than destruction, so it doesn’t really feel like the second part of this game.
Part 2 is likely to arrive in the next 24 hours unless Warzone is planning to destroy Verdansk again after the new Call of Duty game is released later this year, introducing a similar event to tie the games together. It doesn’t seem like a very realistic scenario, but it could happen.
